Explorers is VPP’s outdoor nature program and is taught by credentialed Early Childhood Teachers and a California Naturalist. Classes are designed for children and their parent or caregiver to learn, grow, and explore the beautiful outdoors together. Each session allows families to spend time outside together (rain or shine!) while enjoying age appropriate songs, stories, games, art, and hikes at local nature areas. Classes are open to all families in the community as well VPP members. A list of class locations will be sent out a week prior to the start of class. Class locations are typically within 35 minutes of our school in Danville and often repeat from session to session as the seasons change the landscape and surroundings each time. Our play-based, parent participation program provides a hands-on curriculum that allows children to learn, explore, and discover using all of their senses. Our Preschool and AM Pre-Kindergarten classes have a teacher-student ratio of 1 to 3 and our PM Pre-K class has a teacher-student ratio of 1 to 4. We use the Houghton Mifflin Pre-K Curriculum, which is coordinated with San Ramon Valley Unified School District.
