Welcome to Corica Park: Ranked among the nation's best municipal courses. Eco-driven, socially inclusive destination.
Corica Park is located in the City of Alameda and within five minutes of Oakland Airport. In addition to the extensive driving range and practice facility, our three golf courses are suitable for players of all skill levels. Fast greens and swirling winds challenge seasoned golfers, while wide fairways and rolling hills welcome those newer to the game.
Yesterday my friend managed to get a tee time for the Corica Park NORTH course in Alameda. The only caveat was we were playing nine holes for $49 green fee. IMHO the green fee was a little steep but the first nine holes closest to the clubhouse were open for play. The holes furthest away where probably about 6 months away from completion. Anyway we had a foursome and we teed off from the black tees as they were rated at about 6300 yards long. The wind was up gusting at about 20 mph. A good challenge.
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition though it was still a little hard for all the renovation work. There were a few light brown spots which was not unexpected in this drought year. The fairways and greens had a lot of undulations and the bunkers were similar to Scottish links style (St Andrews Old Course). Fortunately I did not find any of the bunkers but did lose a ball in the fescue which was pretty thick at many spots. I did enjoy playing this brand new upgraded nine holes and can't wait until they reopen the rest of the course.
Recently returned for golf lessons with my pro/coach. It looks like they're updating. This time, I was just there for lessons at the range. It's a really comfortable and pleasant setting. Lots of sections available for those practice drills. Lots to explore.
5 stars for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the kid checking us in. He was funny, welcoming, and just an overall A grade human. Forgot to get his name! Now onto the course, we played the South. It's a top 3 public course in the Bay Area for me. Good shape, fast greens, and relatively challenging holes. We played in under 4 hours on a weekend too! Keep it up Corica.
