One of my fave spots for Canto style homecookin goodness.
Excellent quality, superb service, delicious food!
We frequent this place often and have tried a variety of dishes from steamed fish, various noodle dishes, etc. Every dish has been excellent.
Some faves I would recommend are the salt and pepper squid or cuttle fish, salt and pepper pork, beef chow fun (or sub for chicken and it is really nice too!). Pea sprouts, broccoli, and other veggie dishes have been excellent as well. The congee/jook is great too!Overall 5!
Definitely return often, highly recommended.
Came in thinking that I'd be arriving to gum kuo, but was so surprised to see this location replaced by grand cafe.
We asked the host and confirmed that this location has been open for 2 months.
My family and I ordered the usual of what we'd order from Gum Kuo: Green beans, soy sauce chow mein, and abalone porridge.
If you're wondering if the food tastes the same as gum kuo, it truly does. I have a feeling that the chef is the same. I was able to determine this by the flavor of the green beans, the quantity of the chow mein, and the creaminess of the porridge.
They have also hired many more servers than before!
Although this place has less stars than they deserve, I really encourage you to try it if you're craving gum kuo. I swear it's the same place, even the decor, dishes are the same! The menu is a bit different from my favorite abalone porridge has even more things added in such as chicken, pork, and shrimp.
I'll definitely be back!
