Insight Vision Care Optometry - Dr. Stephanie Chan

I'm always hesitant with doctors in general especially eye doctors and dentists because I always feel like they try to find a way to get more money out of you. This is definitely not one of those places and I appreciate that more than anything. Dr. Doherty was great and I didn't have to wait at all for the exam. He was really nice and explained a lot. I have found a new eye doctor!

Really great experience here! The front desk staff was super welcoming. As a new patient, I found the introductory paperwork to be painless and quick. I was seen on-time by Dr. Doherty. He was very nice and thorough in his explanations. He did a full comprehensive exam and let me know what each step was going to accomplish. I had a concern about my vision and I felt like he really understood what I was talking about and made me feel reassured about the situation. I always had the impression that my vision was truly terrible (due to a lack of knowing any better about eye prescriptions) but Dr. Doherty gave me a lot of hope for the present and future of my eyeballs! Haha. For someone who gets anxious about health-related things, Dr. Doherty had all the comforting words I needed to hear. I also brought in my most recent pair of glasses which needed some light repair to the frame as they were inadvertently stepped on at home (note to self - never put your glasses on the floor out of their case next to your bed, even when feeling lazy...ugh). The optician wasn't sure they could be fixed but Dr. Doherty was able to see the problem and manipulate the frame back to the correct position. For free! I also appreciated that he did not try to push me towards buying more expensive contacts to correct my astigmatism. I really felt that he was recommending what I needed and nothing more.

Quick tip - They do remind you to bring in your glasses and wear your contacts to the appointment. I also brought in my contact lens container which shows both the brand/type of contact and also your prescription. I was told that it was helpful to have brought this in as well.

My husband and I had such a great experience as first-time clients at Insight Vision Care Optometry in Walnut Creek. My husband saw Dr. Chan. I saw Dr. Doherty. We both worked with Meg to find great frames. Our optometrists were extremely knowledgeable, experienced and engaging. Meg made the decision-making incredibly easy and gave us quotes. She is very friendly and efficient and ultimately fulfilled our orders within minutes. The office/reception team is super proactive as well!

My glasses prescription is unique and never seems to arrive quickly (basically all my life haha), so I about ejected from my chair when I got a call from the office letting me know my glasses and contacts were in (within 7-8 days).

We cannot speak highly enough about our great experience here. Of course we totally recommend this business.
