For students in 5th-8th grades, Nomad is a mobile, project-based school for adventure seekers, dreamers, and doers. Thematic journeys lead students through academic content leading to deep exploration of big ideas. Through meaningful experiences, students practice the process of learning and then apply their new-found knowledge through self-driven projects.
Students learn by engaging with the world around them on regular excursions around the Bay Area, working with nearby experts and understanding that they are meaningful members of their community.
We've only been at Nomad a short time but we've got nothing but great things to say. It's easy to tell how the school provides a different, experiential academic experience. It's perfect if you're looking for something beyond a traditional classroom. More important to us is the care for and knowledge of each kid there that all the staff provides. They immediately developed a sincere interest in our daughter and her success. A+ school.

Absolutely love the experiential learning model and creative curriculum to keep kids learning & engaged. My son rolls out of bed each morning to go to school with tremendous excitement and joy.
Lots of teacher attention and small class size means that while there is a collective deep dive theme each semester, each student also gets an individualized learning plan to help support the areas they need more skills-building, and to help them excel in areas they have more mastery in.

After Shelter-In-Place, my son desperately needed a safe, caring environment, with other kids, in which to learn. We found this secret hidden gem in San Francisco's Mission District. NOMAD teaches through a themed journey and focuses on project based learning and guided adventures throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. My son is gifted but needed a learning style that is not just repetitious, strict, traditional learning. Nomad has traditional academics, but the learning happens via a creative style to weave it all together in a way that is exciting and engaging, not repetitive, and boring for my son. I wish my school experiences had been so enriched and exciting! Highly recommend NOMAD school.
