PEL Learning Center - San Leandro

We wanted to give our son a head start with reading, writing, and math before kindergarten so we decided to send him here since they teach the core subjects and make sure the students really understand the subject. The teacher to student ratio is also pretty good as it is usually 1:1 to 1:3

While we checked out 5-6 different kumon branches, we didn't like how it was purely focused on worksheets and were sometimes a bit too lenient with levels.

Surprisingly, he likes coming here as his favorite weekly extracurricular activity over art, soccer, swimming, and martial arts.

We also like taking him here since there are so many good restaurants nearby

My daughter has been going to PEL for almost a year and we are VERY impressed with the program. When my daughter got there, her grades were horrible and her reading level was more than 2 grades below. Mr. Lawrence ad Ms. Kiwi were incredibly kind and understanding. Mr. Lawrence was willing to acknowledge that my daughter has issues with her confidence which has effected her learning and most programs wouldn't even talk to me about.

Their program has helped improve her confidence because the staff have been so supportive and loving to her. She has started with the basics, which her elementary school did not give her, and she has only shown improvement since then. Learning those basics in a loving environment has made a big difference for my daughter.

The program is very good at keeping track of my daughters progress and I have had many opportunities to meet with Mr. Lawrence about how my daughter is doing. The staff supports my daughter and me through the process of improving her educational standing.

If you want your child to reach to maximum potential beyond their abilities, it is more important for you to get your child assigned to a few passionate coaches who are willing to educate your child's mind and yet educating your child's heart at the same time. They believe that the child needs a great coach rather than attending to a great school. Passionate coaches such as Ms. Kiwi and Mr. Lawrence generate enthusiasm, which they both help bring out the best from their students and guide them to reach beyond their imaginations. The students need to believe in themselves that the fish has a potential to climb the tree one of these days as long as you persist and persevere. Please go visit them. You will not regret!
