RETRO JUNKIE WHERE TOTALLY GEEK MEETS TOTALLY CHIC, BRINGING NOSTALGIA BACK TO THE FUTURE. Hop in the DeLorean and set the date to 1985. Because Retro Junkie is taking you back. How far back? Way back. Retro Junkie oozes 80s/90s nostalgia… a time when arcade games cost a quarter and ollies were snapped in every parking lot. It’s a throwback bar, but it’s so much more. The unique space blends pop culture geek with rock ‘n’ roll chic. It’s got modern classic “swag” dripping from neon pasted art covered walls. There’s a DJ spinning from a one-of-a-kind booth made from old tape decks (you’ve got to see to believe) and live music blaring from the best sounding stage in the East Bay. Want more? Retro Junkie has live band karaoke, comedy shows, outdoor movie nights, premium pinball, pool tables, and classic arcade games (Tron or Ms. Pac-Man! anyone?). There is truly something for everyone. If you’re thirsty, Retro Junkie has an amazing signature cocktail menu and a diverse local craft beer selection on tap. If you’re hungry, local gourmet food trucks are on constant rotation during the weekends. Real talk, Retro Junkie is set up perfectly for these unique times. They have 8,000 sq. ft. of socially distanced table service including the new outdoor beer garden. Located at the intersection of Main Street and California, and centrally located in Walnut Creek’s historic downtown area, Retro Junkie is only steps away from the Marriott Hotel, BART, and blocks away from the city’s world-class restaurants, and premier shopping. View ProfileRÊVE is not that snooty, splurge-on-your-anniversary kind of French restaurant. Au contraire. This is your classic, everyday neighborhood French bistro. That kind of cozy little place you’d imagine in Saint Michel or Saint Germain. Not smack dab in the middle of the 'burbs. But lucky for you, that’s exactly where 5-star chef Paul Magu will be paying homage to the French comfort food that he fell in love with as a boy growing up in Paris. We’re talking authentic French onion soup. Steamed mussels. Steak frites. Cassoulet. And don’t forget dessert … Come to dinner and you’ll feel like a guest in Paul and Laura Magu-Lecugy’s home. (Yes, kids are welcome. And no, you don’t have to dress up.) Stop by for an apéritif and a little pâté on your way home from work. Or an espresso and seasonal tarte after the movies. Whatever you order, it comes with a side of joie de vivre. [read more]

View ProfileIn 1922, Giovanni and Virginia Biale left the town of Savona in Genoa, Italy with their three young sons, Giacomo, Mario and Rudolfo to make a new life in America. With help from a cousin, they made their way to San Francisco and settled in the Italian section of Potrero Hill. Less than a year later, my grandfather, Giovanni, opened “Biale’s Meat Market” on Connecticut Street. To this day “Biale” is still tiled in the entryway of the building. Giacomo “Jack”, my uncle, stayed in the butcher business while Mario, my father, and Rudy went into the bar and restaurant business in San Francisco, Phoenix and Honolulu. Rudy owned and operated two “Rudy’s Italian Restaurants” in Waikiki for 25 years. I worked at Rudy’s for 3 years with my brother Anthony. It was there I learned the importance of being a hands-on owner. People came from all over the world to visit “Rudy’s”, enjoying the food, the wine, and the gracious host. In the fall of 1999, I opened Rocco’s Ristorante & Pizzeria. I have tried to maintain that same warm and inviting feeling my father and uncle provided for so many years. My family hopes you enjoy your visit and will come see us again! [read more]
